When you’ve been dating for a while and everything seems to be going great and it starts to look like it might be the real thing, one or both of you is going to start thinking there needs to be a wedding proposal on the cards. Hearing the word ‘wedding proposal’ often conjures up images of the traditional proposal where he takes her out for a nice meal, gets on one knee and she says ‘yes’ immediately and the whole audience claps. Let’s face it, if you do the boring one there is a good chance that she will say ‘yes’, but imagine if you go for something a little bit creative – imagine what her reaction will be! Here are some ideas to get you thinking about interesting ways to propose.
Traditional Proposal With A Twist
Picture this, you’ve taken her out for an expensive, delicious meal at her favourite restaurant, and are eating away happily and having a wonderful time. As she starts to clear her plate and get closer to it being empty, some words start to appear. As she scrapes the last mouthful onto her fork she is able to see the words ‘Marry Me’ engraved into the plate. You look into her eyes and the penny drops. She says ‘yes’ and you produce the ring. The only place where this could go wrong is if she isn’t feeling very hungry and decides to leave most of her food, and the words are never seen!
Alternatively you enjoy your delicious meal and then order dessert. You have already prearranged with the chef for the words ‘Marry Me’ to be written on the plate with chocolate or a dessert sauce, so when they bring her the plate she reads the words immediately.
Musical Proposal
Now this one is going to take a little bit of planning to ensure that everything goes according to plan, and that all parties involved are happy to play along. Organise to take her to a concert to see her fave band but organise ahead of time for them to do a ‘Marry Me’ song, or get them to call her up on stage and meet her there to propose to her. You will definitely get points for creativity and she will never ever forget the experience.
Dance Proposal
If you are a good dancer, or even if you aren’t, why not organise a flash mob to help you with the proposal, and do it to one of her favourite songs. Take her out for a delicious dinner and then go for a walk through the city but have the time and place prearranged with your flash mob for it to begin when you get to that point on your walk. Not only will she be impressed with your creativity but she will feel so special that you have gone to the trouble of learning dance moves!
If she says ‘Yes’, why not get straight into the planning together and start organising the wedding supplies online. The great part about organising your wedding using the internet is that you can choose and order your wedding accessories online and get the ball rolling immediately – and do it together!
